My wife and I have enjoyed this island immensely these last twenty years. We hope these notes may give you a sense of this special place--and that you may fall under its spell too.
Another Treasure Island Bassmasters has come to pass. The winner is.....Gloria Carvey, C's sister! Two pounds, 16 inches. An excellent catch for the limited time frame. Midnight was the deadline, and the last bite was at 11:58.
This annual event has been a great excuse to pull the family together. This year we had members from Rochester, Michigan, Maine, and California.
C is on a roll. With the fishing contest just a week away, she is racking up some big catches. Is this the year? We weigh the fish in a bucket of water--the scales are before and after the fish is added. Net difference in this case--2 1/2 pounds.
Smiling faces and lazy days on or by the water--that's what lake living is about. Here are some pictures of our Treasure Island neighbors, having a good time in the summer time.
Once a year, on Treasure Island, we have a fishing contest. The winner gets their name on the plaque in the living room and bragging rights for an entire twelve months.
My bride has never won this prestigious title, and, after twelve years, it is getting to her to the point that she is doing some serious practicing.
She caught this pretty bass while fishing with good old-fashioned worms dug from the garden. She was casting from the point deck at sunset.
